House of Holland iPhone case - This patterned iPhone case was actually the invitation for the House of Holland AW12 show, and they've now made them available to buy as an online exclusive. It's £25, which is kind of crazy for a plastic phone case, but isn't going to mean that I have to live on instant noodles for the rest of the month!
House of Holland x Superga flatforms - More House of Holland, can you tell it's one of my favourite labels? I guess with this being a collaboration, it doesn't totally fit with my "designer treat" brief, but I have been lusting after these shoes for ages, and at any other time I'd definitely not spend the £70 they cost, as that's kind of a silly price for some pimped-out P.E. pumps! I have a feeling I will have bought these by the end of the week though!
Alexander McQueen skull scarf - The scarf that needs no introduction. It's £165 though (I swear they were £140 before, bloody inflation!), which is a bit more than I'm comfortable dropping on one item without having saved for it. I feel guilty if I break that psychological price barrier of £100! I think this will stay on my wishlist a bit longer and I'll stash a bit away every month to pay for one.
Mulberry inky blue snake print leather iPhone case - £85 for an iPhone case is kind of crazy, but I love the dark blue colour and the snake texture to the leather. My handbag is always a bit dirty and full of rubbish though, so this would probably get destroyed really quickly, and then I'd have wasted the best part of 100 quid. Possibly a purchase to postpone until I'm a bit more grown-up and able to take better care of my belongings!

I'm not sure I have one *favourite* brand, but the labels featured in this post, especially HOH and Alexander McQueen, are definitely up there in my (many) favourites!

I think the shoes seem the best deal here. I guess I can't fathom spending that much on iphone cases. Plus the shoes look great for summer. I spent my first paycheck reward on buying a bunch of books I wanted and a celebratory dinner out. Not fashion-y items at all!
ReplyDeleteI agree that the shoes should be the one to go for, it's a good milestone. I guess when I worked a second job in a bar, that money woudl be paid to me weekly and would be considered my 'spends' so i would use that for what i wanted each week.
ReplyDeleteHaha every month I get my paycheck and thing "Well, I deserve a few little treats.." and then by the time I have to pay all my bills, I barely have enough money! haha oops. Whilst the cases are nice, I'd go for the scarf or the shoes, you're paying a similar amount with the shoes and it will feel a lot more substantial! But definitely get yourself something! xx
ReplyDeleteI tried to get a good deal on the HH covers on ebay right after LFW but they went for so much because they were limited edition, now they've gone up for general sale maybe I'll get one cheaper.

I reeeeally want a pair of House of Holland for Superga shoes too! I've seen them somewhere on sale though..maybe Asos? But also maybe only certain styles were on sale.. I've also wanted an Alexander McQueen scarf for the longest time, it's so classic and would just feel amazing to know you're wearing a little bit of McQueen. Congrats on your first proper pay check :)

You should definitely treat yourself! If it was me I'd get the McQueen scarf, I love them and they've been around for so long that I don't think it'll go out of fashion as quick as the flatforms might do :) xx
